427 million MySpace passwords are available for anyone to download

myspace

Well this is just great. If you used MySpace back in the day, you better make sure you’re not using a similar username or password on any of your other accounts (lest you make the same mistake as Oculus’ CEO, who did that). Hackers have now dumped 427 million MySpace passwords on the web for anyone to download all willy nilly.

Yeah, you can probably find your ex’s old username and account password if you feel like digging for it, but don’t come crying back to me when you’re cuffed in the back of a cop car for being a creeper. The file is 14.2GB, Mashable said, noting that it’s protected by a password that was published on Twitter by user @CthulkhuSec:

My apologies, went full-on derp there. Password for MySpace db is KLub8pT&iU$8oBY(*$NOiu and will add it to the page https://t.co/b7byVMjgHg

I’m not going to link to the file – determined users can find it easy enough. Let this be a warning though, change you password frequently, especially if you ever used it on MySpace.
