Square Enix has delivered a huge blast of footage from its upcoming JRPG Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, and it all comes to us in English, making sure you know what’s up when it launches on June 28.
First up, Square Enix has rolled out two more character trailers, introducing us to the second-tier heroes of our quest, Fiora and Victor. One is a stalwart knight looking to help our hero Fidel reach his full potential as a swordsman. The other is a witch who reminds us how ridiculous fashion can really be in the JRPG genre and then shatters any expectations wiggle room for more insanity.
I think we’ve reached the epitome with Fiora. tri-Ace has gone all in, and it’s up to some studio out there to top this oddball character.
Lastly, Square Enix also wants you to know that Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is not your Granddaddy’s JRPG. It might look like it when walking around the bright and colorful settings, alongside these weird heroes, but that all changes when it comes time to rumble.
No more digging through menus to find your characters attacks. This is about as close to an action game that the genre is allowed to get before being forced to change its classification, and a final trailer detailing how it all plays out shows off exactly why.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessnesss launches on the PlayStation 4 on June 28.
