The next Battlefield’s setting leaked by the Xbox Store, looks like WWI

Well, thanks, Xbox. It looks like we now have at least a minor understanding of the next Battlefield‘s setting ahead of today’s reveal. DICE and EA are in the middle of hyping up today’s announcement with a “history of” livestream, a smidgen of their fun appears to have been spoiled by Microsoft.

NeoGAF user josecitoxnyo spotted the image you see at the head of this post on the Xbox Store on their Xbox One. It sat in the Trending on Xbox section of the dashboard, right above a line that read “Road to Battlefield – Watch the World Premiere event.”

Judging by the imagery, we have a German Luger pistol from WWI, a zeppelin, a man in a cape and a spiked take on a grenade from WWI… or a corndog, as some on NeoGAF joked. I like both options.

In that same thread, we have a screenshot of a now deleted tweet from an EA marketing employee, complete with terminology I haven’t used since I was a freshman in high school.

The official reveal of Battlefield happens at 4pm ET today. We have the livestream rolling right here.

In the meantime, does this look like WWI to you? What about an alternate history version of WWI? I’m down with either.
