This interactive Ghostbusters VR experience sounds incredibly cool

Can’t wait for the new Ghostbusters movie to hit theaters? If you’re in NY you can experience the action for yourself with a special virtual reality experience opening on July 1 ahead of the film.

Ghostbusters: Dimension is a multiplayer experience that lets you step into the shoes of a Ghostbuster and hunt a mysterious paranormal villain hiding in a New York apartment building. It was created by Void, a company from Utah that’s developed impressive VR technology to rival the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The new demo is part of a massive 85,000 square foot installation at Madame Tussauds in Times Square devoted to the Ghostbusters reboot.

“Fans will get to know what it really feels like to be a Ghostbuster,” Void CEO Ken Bretschneider told Rolling Stone, describing the technology as “a combination of a physical set, 5D effects and virtual reality.”

Ghostbusters: Dimension is a 15-minute multiplayer game that unfolds differently each time depending on the decisions you make. To play, you’ll strap on a VR headset, a special vest with haptic feedback, a proton back and a gaming gun that acts as your ghost-busting proton gun. You may even run into a few familiar faces along the way. Void isn’t giving away any details on who you might see, so you’ll have to try it for yourself to find out.
