Spotify on Monday finally introduced a Family Plan that is much more affordable and competitive with Apple Music and Google Play Music, both of which offer compelling prices for members of the same family that want to share a premium subscription without paying $10/month per person.
Spotify’s Family Plan allows up to six family members to share a Spotify Premium account for $14.99 a month. This is much better than the previous pricing, introduced in 2014, which charged $14.99 for two people, $19.99 for three, $24.99 for a family of four and $29.99 for five people. Each member gets his or her own account and the full access to Spotify premium. All six people share a single $14.99 monthly payment.
The new pricing will launch this summer, Spotify said, and will apply to all markets except Canada.
