Antitrust regulators with the South Korea Fair Trade Commission (FTC) are investigating Apple, Reuters reported on Tuesday. The news outlet didn’t specifically name what the investigators are trying to find. South Korea’s FTC only said it was looking into “some matters,” according to Reuters.
“Some matters” of course could literally mean anything, from serious accusations to a brief look into Apple’s business practices in the country. But a rumor has suggested that Apple may be under a microscope because of its deals with South Korea’s wireless carriers, Reuters explained. In general, the FTC might begin digging around if it thinks one company is favoring one firm over another, creating a situation where antitrust regulators might find a concern.
An Apple spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
