Fans of the JRPG formula are pegging I Am Setsuna as a great, modern take on their classic favorite. I admit, the game does look fantastic, and the freshly released art has me drooling for a chance to dive into the world. Its Chrono Trigger inspiration is pushing that hype along, too.
Alongside the art, some North American pre-order bonuses have been revealed. For the PlayStation version, gamers who pre-order will have access to two different dynamic themes as soon as the buy the game. Pre-ordering the game on a PlayStation device will land you a digital download of “Eternal Winter,” a song composed by Tomoki Miyoshi. Steam pre-orderers will score a different track, “The Warmth of Hope.”
Yeah, the pre-order bonuses are sort of bogus, if you ask me. I want more art. The dynamic themes are nice, but this game’s look warrants more.
I Am Setsuna released in Japan back in February of this year. It did well in sales and with critical reception, though the latter was not too strong. I Am Setsuna releases for the rest of the world on July 19, 2016. It’ll sell on the PlayStation 4, PS Vita and PC platforms.
