The Gear 360 camera, Samsung’s 360-degree camera, is finally available to purchase from several U.S. retailers. The camera was unveiled earlier this year but hadn’t been easy to find in stores.
Samsung said AT&T, Best Buy, Sprint, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless will stock the device, which costs $349.99. Samsung will continue to sell it online where it has been available since August.
Gear 360 is great for VR
The Gear 360 is a great gadget to pick up if you want to record your own VR-ready video. It’s capable of capturing 3840 x 1920-video and 30-megapixel still photos, which makes it perfect for reliving your vacations, hikes or family experiences.
You don’t need a Gear VR, either; this content can be viewed on Google cardboard products or even through social networks where you can pan around images and video. The catch? You need a Galaxy device that runs the company’s Gear application, which leaves iOS and other Android users out in the cold.
