We’re now less than half a year away from the release of the Nintendo Switch, and the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS find themselves on their last legs. Nintendo is not yet ready to close the door on either console, but their lineups spell out a different story.
The company’s latest financial report also listed out every game still coming to both devices, and, needless to say, Nintendo is done with the Wii U. The only first-party titles still remaining are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is also coming to the Nintendo Switch, and believe it or not, Project Giant Robot. For those that don’t remember, this was shown off by Miyamoto during E3 2014 as a unique way to enjoy the Wii U’s gamepad, but Nintendo distanced itself from the project after it never materialized into a full game.
As for third party titles, the Wii U still looks pretty decent. Stardew Valley looks like a promising console port, and I can’t wait to finally play Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
