Sony announced on Thursday that it’s officially launching the PlayStation Vue app for Apple TV. tvOS has been one of the remaining platforms where PlayStation Vue wasn’t available for users. It has, until now, existed on Android, Roku, iOS and the Web.
Sony said that PlayStation Vue will only work on the latest fourth-generation Apple TV, which makes sense given it runs tvOS while older versions do not. Users will be able to navigate using the Siri remote, though it’s not immediately clear if voice search will work throughout the application, too.
TV app support still up for debate
I’m also curious if Sony will support the new TV app on Apple TV, which will allow users to browse for content without opening each individual application when it launches in December. Netflix and Amazon Prime aren’t adding that support, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sony sit on the sidelines, too.
Now that Apple TV is out of the way, I hope Sony gets to work on a dedicated Windows 10 app.
