Lenovo’s innovative Yoga Book to get Chrome OS next year

One of this year’s most innovative devices, the Lenovo Yoga Book, is getting a sequel sometime next year. Students, you should be very excited.

According to Lenovo VP Jeff Meredith, via Laptop Mag, the company is planning to release a follow-up to its fascinating Yoga Book running Chrome OS, which Meredith says was oft-requested by customers.

Considering how portable—not to mention beautiful—the Yoga Book is, putting Chrome OS on it could make for a great companion for students. And the fact that Chrome OS now supports Android apps is another reason Google’s software would be such a great fit for Lenovo’s device.

It would also fit in nicely with the existing versions already offered by Lenovo. Currently, customers can get the Yoga Book running Android 6.0 or Windows 10.

Meredith confirmed the company’s Real Pen would work with the upcoming device similarly to how it does with the Android version. That means users will be able to use the pen directly with the device’s Create Pad in addition to sketching and writing notes on the screen.

So, how much will it cost?

Meredith didn’t divulge any other details beyond saying a version running Chrome OS is on the way. That means info like pricing and release date are still unknown. But with CES just around the corner, perhaps we’ll see a working version then.
