Brace Yourself Games’ indie hit Crypt of the NecroDancer has been confirmed for a PlayStation 4 and PS Vita release on Feb. 2, and like all of the “good guys” in the universe, it will support cross-buy.
The launch trailer is one of the best in years as well.
When I first saw Crypt of the NecroDancer, it seemed like the kind of game I wanted to try. I like roguelikes, and I like rhythm games, but I never imagined the two together. From all that I’ve read, the reception makes it sound like a winner.
The only problem is that I can’t picture myself sitting at a desk and playing this kind of game in front of my PC. Roguelikes act as a wonderful travel companion for me on the move, so this PS Vita release is about as essential for me as it gets.
Crypt of the NecroDancer turns up the volume on typical 2D dungeon crawling action by adding rhythm based movement and combat. You control main character, Cadence, as she explores each zone, picking up gear and defeating musically motivated monsters. Then unlock multiple new characters who offer different challenging modes of play.
Four unique zones featuring randomly generated levels offer exciting new gameplay experiences every time. Earn Trophies and play our Daily Challenges to test your hard-won rhythm skills. The PS4 version of the game will also support dance pad gameplay!
