Top Tech Deals

Launched under Anker’s home brand, Eufy, the Genie smart speaker starts at $35- the lowest price so far on Amazon’s analog, the Dot, but today the barrier to entry to the Alexa ecosystem gets even lower at just 30 bucks. Even better, new subscribers to Amazon Music Unlimited get three months free with their Genie purchase.

Read all about the Genie here:

Sometimes, I’m still amazed that you can get a 65″ TV for $700, let alone one with 4K resolution, HDR10 support, built-in Roku software, and the ability to use your phone as a remote. $700 is about $100 less than usual, and while we’ve seen the 55″ model on sale for $400 a few times in the past month, 65″ screens actually have nearly 40″ more screen area than 55″, so you’re getting what you pay for here.

An SSD is the best upgrade you can give your older computer, and Samsung’s 850 EVO line is the most popular one there is. A worldwide NAND shortage has reversed the previously inexorable downward price trend on these things over the past year or so, but today on Amazon, you can get a 500GB drive for $140, or 250GB for $90, the best prices Amazon’s listed in 2017.

Sony’s A7 changed the full-frame photography conversation in the same way that its RX100 line changed the game in the point-and-shoot space. And while it’s a few years old at this point, it’s still a fantastic piece of kit for $898 (body only), an all-time low. Check out Gizmodo’s review for the full rundown.

iClever 4.2A USB Power Receptacle, $14 with code ICWALL77

We’ve seen our fair share of USB power receptacle deals, but this $14 model from iClever is one of the most affordable options yet. Half the things you plug in these days probably plug into USB, so it just makes a ton of sense to install these.

Aukey 3-Pack USB-C Cables, $9 with code B68HPZQ4 | 5-Pack, $14 with code 3YWJ2BPX

One day, all USB ports will be USB-C (or we’ll all be dead, it’s a coin flip). In the meantime, you should stock up on USB 3.0 to USB-C cables to help manage the transition.

1 Year NordVPN, $48 with code VIP70 | 2 Year Plan, $72 with code 2YSpecial2017

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’ geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Your phone is a fully functional computer that fits in your pocket, but you probably don’t want to write anything on it longer than a quick email without a real keyboard. Zagg’s folding keyboard connects to any smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth, includes a stand to prop it up, and can fold down to fit into just about any bag. Get it for $15 with promo code KINJATAB5, and you’ll be the envy of the economy section of your next flight.

iClever USB 3.0 CD/DVD-RW Drive, $25 with code CLEVERSL

Most laptops don’t have CD drives anymore, which is mostly fine, except for that one time that inevitably pops up every year or two where you really wish you had one. Now, you can for just $25, no extra power cable required.

Anker Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount, $8 with code YTXCPYKJ

Anker’s take on the ubiquitous magnetic air vent smartphone mount comes with a twist. Or rather, a swivel. Get it for $8 with code YTXCPYKJ.

Anker SoundCore 2, $34 with code SUNANK55

With its 24 hour battery life, iumpressive bass, and crystal clear sound quality, the Anker SoundCore has long been our readers’ favorite affordable Bluetooth speaker. But its run may be at an end, because Anker just upgraded it with IPX5 water resistance, and you can get the new model for an all-time low $34 today with code SUNANK55.

The SoundCore 2 still includes dual drivers and that amazing 24 hour battery; the only real differences are a slightly tweaked design and the aforementioned water resistance. That means you can take it to the pool, the beach, or even the shower without fear.

Vansky White Bias Light, $10 with code VSD5YF20 | Vansky RGB Bias Light, $12 with code VSD5YF20

Reduce eye fatigue and make your living room a little more futuristic – win, win! These Vanksy Bias Lights backlight your TV to reduce the strain your eyes can undergo when watching a bright TV in a dark room.

We’ve posted these Vansky Bias Lighting several times but today’s prices at $12 and $10 are the lowest ever.

RAVPower 24W USB Car Charger, $5 with code KINJA906

Aukey’s tiny USB car charger is a reader favorite, but this RAVPower model is the same size and puts out the same 4.8A of power over two ports, and it’s only $5 today with code KINJA906. Even if you have a perfectly good car charger already, it might be worth adding this one to your luggage for rental cars.

If price has been the barrier to entry keeping you from better audio, here’s the first opportunity since Prime Day to grab Status Audio’s CB-1s for their best price ever, $63.

Status is a direct-to-consumer headphone company, building great cans in proven form factors without the markup that comes with popular brands. In fact, there’s no branding here whatsoever.

The CB-1s are extremely comfortable out of the box, more so (for me) than the ATH-M50X, MDR7506, SR60e, or V-MODA Crossfade Wireless, just to name a few off the top of my head (ha!).

The CB-1s have a (relatively) flat frequency response that’s great for listening to a variety of music or audio/video editing, with a wide sound stage in a closed back design. I get good isolation/seal with the updated pads. The inclusion of two detachable cables- coiled and straight, is also generous and welcome. Even better that they smartly attach with a twist lock.

We know from five years of Kinja Deals that great over-ear, closed back headphones for under $70 is no joke. Depending on what you’ve shelled out for in the past, they might even blow away your much more expensive pairs.

Top Home Deals

We’ve seen several Kershaw knife deals lately, but this one has a great minimalist aesthetic, as well as Kershaw’s SpeedSafe one-handed opening mechanism. $20 is an all-time low price, but it’s only available today. Just remember to leave it at home when you go to the airport.

The popular Hoover Sprint bagless upright vacuum is only $33 today, and includes more features than you might expect, including an accessory hose, adjustable brush height, and a true HEPA filter. That’s a pretty great package for the price.

OxyLED T4S, $50 with code OXT4SAUG

Those big, fancy swing arm lamps aren’t just for architects and lawyers in dramatic films; you can clip this one from OxyLED onto just about any desk for $50 today with code OXT4SAUG. That’s a whopping $40 off, and a great deal for a lamp that yo can adjust every which way.

Suaoki 4-in-1 Cree LED Flashlight, $18 with code 6L5PHWMJ

A rechargeable Cree LED flashlight for $18 would be a pretty good deal under any circumstances, but this one includes a seatbelt cutter, window hammer, and even a 10,400Ah USB battery charger. Plus, it includes IPX6 waterproofing, so you’ll still be able to use it if you drive your car into a lake.

If you don’t have the time or money to hit the driving range on a regular basis, this Callaway home range practice system is the next best thing. $97 gets you a net, a hitting mat, and a caddy/feeder that can hold 35 balls and drop them onto the hitting zone with a tap of a club. That’s the best price since Prime Day, when it was about $2 cheaper.

Rare is the apartment kitchen that includes enough storage and counter space, but you can add your own with this attractive Whitmor baker’s rack for just $65 from Amazon, down from its usual $75.

That includes stainless steel shelves and hanging hooks, a removable butcher block cutting surface, and a 10 year limited warranty.

Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towels, $22 after $2 coupon

$24 is Amazon’s lowest-ever listed price on these top-selling Bounty paper towels, but right now, an additional $2 coupon brings them down to a new low. You need paper towels anyway, so you might as well stock up.

Raise a glass to this kitchen gadget that essentially pays for itself in one use. The $7 Vacu Vin Wine Saver sucks all the air out of your unfinished wine and keeps it fresh for up to a week. As a person who would normally re-use the original wine cork to seal off leftover wine, this works about 9,000 times better and saves me from the instant regret of drinking wine/vinegar hybrid.

ECOVACS N78 Robotic Vacuum, $135 with code 3HVO96O6

Vacuuming is simultaneously the worst chore, and the chore most easily pawned off to a robot. How convenient!

While it lacks the brand recognition of a Roomba, and we can’t personally vouch for them like we can for the Eufy RoboVac 11, this ECOVACS vacuum has solid reviews, and are insanely affordable today at $135 with promo code 3HVO96O6. That’s a match for a Gold Box deal from July, and one of the best prices we’ve seen on any robotic vacuum.

Prime Surprise Sweets Dash Button, $2 with $5 credit with code 2SWEET

You ever have one of those weeks that you wish you could have chocolate and cookies just…appear? Well, Amazon has you covered with their Prime Surprise Sweets Dash Button, now marked down to just $2, with the $5 credit included, with the code 2SWEET. Order surprise boxes full of chocolate, brownies, cookies, and sweet snacks at the literal touch of a button.

Each box costs $18 (but doesn’t fluctuate like the other Dash Button deals usually do) and you still get the $5 credit as you would with any other Dash Button. And the boxes are really full of pretty spectacular choices. Seriously, just take a look at the example boxes.

If the main problem you had with other snack subscription boxes was not finishing them before you got the next one, having an on-demand box in the form of a Dash Button may be the best solution yet.

Dr. Meter IR Thermometer, $12 with code PUUFWS6U

You guys buy boatloads of IR thermometers whenever we post a deal, and it’s easy to see why. They’re a ton of fun to mess around with, and can come in handy for everything from cooking to home energy savings.

If you still don’t own one, you can rectify that for just $12 today. This one even comes with a holster!

Not only does this 6-quart Crock-Pot come with a digital timer to program cooking times, it also ships with an adorable 16 ounce heated dipper to serve dips and sauces at the table. $28 would be a great price for the Crock-Pot on its own, so be sure to dip into this deal now.

TP-Link Smart White Bulb, $17 with code 3TPLINKSAVE

If you’re smart home-curious, but don’t want to get heavily invested in Philips’ expensive Hue lighting system, TP-Link’s hub-free smart bulbs are a nice alternative.

For a limited time, save $3 on their dimmable white bulb with promo code 3TPLINKSAVE. This bulb can’t change colors at all, but you can control and dim it with your smartphone, or even Alexa, and unlike Hue bulbs, you don’t need a hub.

Halter Preassembled Standing Desk , $99 with code WIEVFKZG

Just in case you’re in the 1% of the population who hasn’t heard, the seemingly innocent action of sitting down all day is shortening your life.

With this absolute rock bottom price (we’ve never seen one under $100), you have no excuse not to get off your butt. This height adjustable standing desk is just $99 with code WIEVFKZG and turns almost any desk into a standing desk.

A standing desk community welcome packet:

2-Pack Portable Clotheslines, $10 with code ZDE4LHJK

This portable clothesline is marketed towards campers and outdoor enthusiasts, but I think it would come in handy at home for clothes you don’t want to run through the dryer. Philips Sonicare Essence+, $30 after $10 coupon

Philips’ entry-level Sonicare Essence electric toothbrush has long been a reader favorite, and now Amazon’s running the best deal we’ve seen on the sequel, the Essence+.

The big improvement here is the brush head: Rather than the screw-on E-series heads (which have a tendency to collect sludge along the seam), the Essence+ uses standard Sonicare snap-on heads. The upshot is that you get a lot more choices: Philips sells seven different options for different budgets and brushing styles.

For a limited time, Amazon’s taking $10 off the brush’s standard $40 price tag. Just be sure to clip the coupon, and note that you won’t see the final price until checkout.

It’s not exactly a second season, but Firefly fans should still be excited to see that the show is getting a special edition 15th anniversary Blu-ray release this month, and you can save a few bucks off MSRP by preordering.

Details are a bit hard to find, but it appears that the contents of the discs are unchanged from the original release. That said, the set does include some nice box art, a map of the Verse, and what appears to be small posters of all the cast members? If you have more information, please share it in the comments.

Top Gaming Deals

The Mega Man Legacy Collection includes the first six Mega Man games, and it’s only $6 right now on Xbox One. Whether you’re playing for the first time, or just need a kick of nostalgia, that’s a great deal.

Update 9/8: It’s back down to $66 and order able, but backordered for an unspecified length of time.

Its two-tone design might not be for everyone, but $66 is a great price for a swiveling desk chair with height and recline control, plus flip-up arms. That’s a match for a deal we saw last month, which many of you took advantage of.

Humble might be best known for its bundles, but its game store is actually pretty great, especially during the End of Summer Sale. A ton of games from various publishers are included, and for 48 hours only, you can even get The Walking Dead: Season 1 completely free, no strings attached.

Refurb Samsung Gear VR, $20

If you own a compatible phone, the Samsung Gear VR is practically a must-buy accessory for $100. But for $20 (albeit for a refurb), you’d be crazy not to pick it up.

This model is compatible with the Galaxy Note 5, plus the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S7, and S7 Edge. Just clip your phone into place, and enjoy 3D photos, hundreds of games, a virtual cinema, and more from the Oculus VR store. It’s a shame it won’t work with newer Samsung phones, but if you still own a compatible headset, $20 is a fantastic price.
