Traffic sucks, so why not start your morning off with some music? You provide the toast and we’ll provide the jams.
This is a super early punk record, maybe the second punk record. It was released in the middle of ‘76 out of Australia, only a few months after the Ramones got on record.
Now, normally, I don’t like getting too much into “oh this was early punk” or “oh this is proto punk” or “oh you really need to listen to this it’s super early punk” ever since I got my punk buddy Dylan to download the Velvet Underground off of limewire in middle school and we both looked at each other with complete confusion once we actually were able to put it on. We both went back to listening to The Adicts and I largely stopped recommending music to people after that.
But! This is the b-side to “I’m Stranded,” which, like many super duper early punk records, is ultra slow and doesn’t sound all that punk. “No Time,” though, is urgent and fast and still quite fun. I’m particularly fond of the guitar solo that is all of three notes.
