My favorite genre of used car is “super normal, everyday car that has suspiciously low miles and is inexplicably in amazing condition.” And this 1987 Toyota Camry on Bring a Trailer is exactly that. It only has 39,100 miles and one of the nicest old Camry interiors I’ve ever seen.
It’s hard to think of a car more normal and ubiquitous than a 1980s Camry—or really any Camry, to be honest. They’re seldom interesting, but they’re always dependable workhorse family cars. They’re meant to be driven, and they are. No one goes out of their way to preserve these things the way they would with a high-end sports car or whatever.
Which makes me think this Camry was preserved more by accident. My guess is this Colorado car was owned by an older person who probably drove it to church on occasion and not much else, and also made sure to do all the routine maintenance. Regardless, it’s extremely unusual to find a 31-year-old Camry with the same mileage and condition as a recently new lease turn-in special today.

This particular car has all the amenities any Camry owner could want or need: A four-speed automatic, a new timing belt and water pump, 14-inch steel wheels, a rear defroster and a nice blue interior. If only it had a manual instead of the slushbox.
It’s all quite lovely and a steal if it goes for anything close to the as-of-this-writing price of $3,200. It’s not perfect; it has a couple dents here and there, and the bumpers are pretty faded. But it’s a damn Camry, what do you expect?
You have approximately six hours and change from when this story was posted to put in a bid. I’m not sure this attention will blow up the price—it’s not an air-cooled 911, after all—but I do hope it’ll go to a worthy home.
