Capcom chose April 1 to drop news of a massive reorganization within its mobile business. This is an official press release, not a mean joke leveled at Mega Man fans.
According to the release, Capcom now “aims to produce hit titles both domestically and abroad by aggressively utilizing the company’s popular IP.” This will go down specifically in the mobile arena.
Capcom’s looking to get more serious about standing along the bleeding edge of mobile as it “established its ‘Mobile Business Division’ in order to grow its business in-step with the market and continue offering exciting content.”
What sort of content? Well, between now and March 31, 2017, the company is set to release four new games. The IPs these games include Mega Man, Monster Hunter and Sengoku BASARA. The latter in that group has its own anime and media franchise.
