Top Tech Deals

Anker’s PowerCore battery packs have long been reader favorites, and you can choose from two capacities of the PowerCore Speed on sale today. Both feature Quick Charge 3.0 for your compatible Android devices, but of course, any of their ports will charge basically any USB-powered device.

Unlike most Anker deals, these don’t require a promo code, but the 10,000mAh model is about $6 less than usual, while the 20,000mAh version is $8 off.

Yi Home Camera, $29 with code YP5S6XQ4

Yi, manufacturer of your favorite affordable action cam, also makes a home IP security camera, and you can pick it up for just $29 today with promo code YP5S6XQ4, the best deal we’ve ever seen.

The Yi Home Camera includes all the basic features you’d expect, including two-way audio, automatic activity alerts to your phone, and remote monitoring. And unlike other companies that rely on cloud storage and monthly fees, the Yi stores your files on an onboard microSD card, no membership required.

We see deals on leaf-style HDTV antennas pretty frequently, but if you won’t settle for anything less than the brand that started the trend, Amazon’s discounting the tiny Leaf Metro to just $15 today.

As the smallest antenna in Mohu’s lineup, the Metro is only rated for 25 miles under ideal circumstances (compared to 30 for the standard Leaf), so this antenna is best suited for city dwellers who live close to their local broadcast towers. Check out Lifehacker’s guide if you aren’t sure that this is right for you.

iClever BoostCube 60W, $18 with code ICDESKCG

60W, six ports, $18. You won’t find many better deals on USB charging hubs.

Lifewit Leather Messenger Bag, $39 with code JTBRUJTJ

Laptop bags that protect your computer during transport are usually all function and no form. And rightfully so. But this 15″ Lifewit bag is actually incredibly attractive and functional, with durable genuine leather, a padded interior, and five pockets for things like your phone, chargers, and more. Use the code JTBRUJTJ and pick it up for $39.

TP-Link Archer C7, $77 after $10 coupon

While mesh routers have broken through in 2016, the Wirecutter-recommendedTP-Link Archer C7 though is one of the best “traditional” routers you can get, and it’ll only cost you $77 today after you clip the $10 coupon. It was down to $70 around Black Friday, but this is one of the best deals we’ve seen since the holidays.

Velocifire Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard, $25 with code 43NROQKN | Full-Width, $34 with code 43NROQKN

You’ve probably heard a lot of fuss about mechanical keyboards lately, and if not, you’ve at least heard the clicking. If you’re curious to try one yourself without dropping a bunch of money, you can get a tenkeyless Velocifire model for $25, or a full-width keyboard for $9 more today.

The keys don’t use name brand Cherry MX switches, but the switches it does include should closely mimic Cherry MX Browns, which are easy to press and quieter than most other switches, making them popular for office use.

BioLite Wood Burning CampStove, $79 with code GOODFIRE

It’s impossible to describe the BioLite CampStove without sounding like a lunatic, but you can actually find some sticks just laying on the ground, toss them into the stove and light them on fire at the push of a button, and then charge your phone with a USB port that’s powered by the heat of the flame. It’s completely insane, and yet it works.

Of course, this also works as a regular old camp stove, and at full power it can boil a liter of water in under five minutes. It also weighs two pounds, and is about the size of a large water bottle, so it won’t take up too much space in your camping bag. Get it for an all-time low $79 with promo code GOODFIRE, for a limited time.

Shane looked at the CampStove 2 for Gear, and while that model includes a built-in battery pack, a camp light, and a few other enhancements, I don’t think any of them are worth the price premium during this promotion.

Aukey Slim Profile USB Car Charger, $7 with code AUKEYCC3

Your favorite USB car charger just happens to be the smallest one you can buy, and you can grab it on Amazon for $7 today with code AUKEYCC3. This is Kinja Deals’ top-selling product of all time, and if it’s been on your wish list, this is the best price we’ve seen in about a year.

1 Year NordVPN, $48 with code VIP70 | 2 Year Plan, $72 with code 2YSpecial2017

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’ geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Picking a band instrument is a rite of passage for some kids. I chose the trumpet, which was not the best for my social status, but it was fun. Get your kid a brand new instrument for the upcoming school year, or unleash the purest annoyance on the people you live near with this one-day Gold Box. Thinking about it, it kind of makes sense why my neighbors only liked me when I was older.

Jewelry? Documents? Weapons? You can keep them all safe with today’s Barska Gold Box. Inside, you’ll find deals on six different safes with various locking mechanisms to protect your valuables, and your peace of mind.

The sale also includes a metal detector, binoculars, and a door handle, if you’re in the market.

Dyson V6, $245

The Dyson V6 cordless vacuum is ideal for cleaning rugs, hardwood floors, car seats, ceilings, shelves…pretty much anything really, and you can get a brand new one on Amazon today for $245, down from its usual $300.We see refurbished Dyson deals pretty frequently, but this is a great chance to save one that’s unsullied by any previous owners.

Vantrue N2 Dash Cam, $115 with code PQJW8SP3

Always be looking forward, and don’t dwell on what’s behind you. Good advice for life, not so great for a dash cam.

The Vantrue N2 features a secondary lens and sensor that faces backwards, so you’ll be covered if you ever get rear-ended. It won’t be as clear a view as you’d get from a second camera mounted directly against your rear windshield, but it could make all the difference in the case of an accident.

You need toilet paper anyway, so you might as well stock up while it’s cheap. Get 48 rolls of Scott tube-free toilet paper for just $12 (or $11 if you use Subscribe & Save) after clipping the 20% coupon on this page. I’m not sure toilet paper tubes were high up on the list of ecologically damaging waste, but I suppose it doesn’t do any harm to get rid of them.

You probably looked at that image up there and laughed. But let me tell you, there’s nothing funny about using the bathroom in the middle of the night and having to turn on an overhead light to see where you’re going. Because as soon as you hit that switch, you know you’re not getting back to sleep for another hour.

This $6 light fits on just about any toilet, and can output eight different colors of light, without wreaking havoc on your circadian rhythms.

So you want to try a standing desk, but you’re not ready to commit to it for eight hours a day…what do you do? You buy this monitor riser for $150 with code 9L7RF86R, or $100 off.

This riser arrives fully assembled, and just sits on top of your existing desk. Put your monitor(s) on the top shelf, your keyboard and mouse on the bottom, and use its integrated spring system to raise the entire setup from a sitting to standing position within seconds. I own a very similar product from Varidesk (which was much more expensive, by the way), and I absolutely love it.

I can tell you from experience that you’ll definitely want a good anti-fatigue mat for standing. This one has great reviews, but whatever you choose, make sure it’s at least 3/4″ thick.

It might not feel like it right now, but dry winter air is just around the corner, but you can fight back with this Eufy (Anker’s home division) humidifier.

The Humos Air 1.1 can run for over 24 hours with its 1.1 gallon tank, and includes a a sensor to measure your room’s humidity level, three different modes, and even a slot to add a few drops of scented oils to freshen up your home. To celebrate the launch of the new Eufy brand, you can save $35 (!!!) with promo code ERFYN5GD, bringing the Humos down to $20, far and away the best price we’ve ever seen.

TP-Link has been quietly assembling an impressive coterie of smart home gadgets for awhile now, but their Philips Hue competitor might be their most impressive gadget yet.

While the TP-Link smart bulb lacks IFTTT support and Hue’s massive ecosystem of apps, you can still control it via the Kasa app, or with an Amazon Echo. And unlike Hue, you don’t need a hub to control them; they connect directly to your router.

Amazon recently added the ability to control the bulbs’ color with Alexa (rather than just its brightness level), so you can take full control over your lighting with just your voice.

VAVA Car Oil Diffuser, $19 with code 25ITVKRU

There’s no shortage of oil diffusers you can buy to humidify your home and make it smell nice, but what about your car? This miniature diffuser plugs into one of the USB ports you already have in your car, and is perfectly sized to sit in a cupholder. There’s nothing like eucalyptus to relax you on your commute home after work.

UV Flashlight, $12 with code WDU3S94L

Blacklight flashlights are great if you want to spot hidden stains on train seats, hotel sheets, or (gasp) even in your own house…if that’s something you want to do.

It may seem silly, but if you find even one stain in a hotel room and complain to management, I guarantee that this thing will pay for itself several times over. We’ve seen less expensive lights before, but this one has a whopping 100 LED bulbs, while most of those had 20 or fewer.

Premium travel products like high quality luggage, airport lounge access, or TSA Pre✔︎ seem like unnecessary extravagances when you’re considering purchasing them from the comfort of your own home. But if you travel with any regularity, you know full well that the small conveniences they provide really add up during a stressful day of travel.

The same is true of your toiletry bag, still an afterthought for many an otherwise experiened traveler. Most people tend to stuff everything in a ziploc bag, or even (gasp) loose in the outside pocket of their suitcase. And most bags that do exist are way bigger than they should be, while still offering only a paltry few organizational tools.

Gravel may just be the answer. A Kickstarter project that’s already shot past its goal, they sent me a demo unit, and it’s as well-built as they claim. The bag is far smaller than my own toiletry bag, which I sometimes can’t squeeze into a carry-on if I’m packing for more than a few days. But inside, you’ve got a ton of pockets that are purpose-built for holding all the essentials, including a long and skinny waterproof pocket for your toothbrush (even a Sonicare!), and a larger one for liquids that could explode during your trip.

On the outside of the case, another zippered pocket hides a buckle strap which you can use to hang the bag from a towel rack (handy in small hotels with insufficient counter space), plus another large pouch that’s big enough for a passport.

Gravel isn’t slated to ship until December, but if you order now, you can get one for $39, or two for $69 (nice), down from its expected $49 MSRP. I wouldn’t post it if I hadn’t tried it myself, and it really is a well done product.

GORUCK’s military-inspired GR1 dominated our Co-Op for the best everyday backpack, and they’re rewarding our readers with an extremely rare 15% discount with promo code KINJAGORUCK15.

Now, even with the code, this is still a $250 backpack. I’m not blind to the fact that that’s a lot of money. But every GR1 is hand-built over the course of four hours in the USA, is covered by a lifetime warranty, and by basically all accounts is just incredibly well-made. There’s a very real chance that this will be the last backpack you ever have to buy.

Top Lifestyle Deals

$40-$45 deals have been coming and going for the last few weeks on the Sport-Brella XL, but the blue model is available for $42 as of the time of this writing, so you may want to grab it quickly.

Unlike a regular umbrella, Sport-Brella leans backwards and attaches to the sand with stakes, creating a kind of semi-private cocoon with enough space for a couple of chairs and a cooler. Best of all, it sets up in about five minutes (once you know what you’re doing), and can provide a full day’s worth of privacy and sun protection.

It’s time to start planning your outdoor adventures and Backcountry is gonna help you out in the gear department. Take advantage of their Semi-Annual Sale happening right now and grab up to 50% off select styles. Gear, apparel, shoes, and more are all fair game, which means outfitting for your next outdoor adventure just costs you a whole lot less.

TOMS sale at Nordstrom Rack

Stay shady by using the code BOGO at checkout and stock up, because this deal won’t last. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have six pairs of glasses in my cart that I need to decide on.

Our readers have purchased a ton of Sonicare toothbrushes over the years, so today, it’s time to stock up on replacement brush heads. Pretty much every style Sonicare makes (except the old E-series heads) is $6 off when you buy two, or $8 off when you buy three. Just remember that you won’t see the final price until checkout.

Before you head out on your next hike, be sure to pick up this 3L hydration backpack for just $16. That’s one of the best prices we’ve ever seen on any of these things, so pick this one up before the deal runs dry.

Mpow 10L Dry Bag, $11 with code 7YYK8SZL

Sometimes, I’m jealous of our pre-digital age ancestors who didn’t have to worry about all of their stuff getting wet when they were paddling canoes or whatever. But I guess when you can get a 10L dry bag for $11, modernity isn’t so bad.

Neil Gaiman’s Neverwherehasn’t gotten the TV treatment like American Gods (though there was a radio adaptation), but many readers consider his first novel to be his best.

Update: Turns out there was a Neverwhere TV series, before there was a novel. I apologize to anyone I offended.

Published in 1997, Neil Gaiman’s darkly hypnotic first novel, Neverwhere, heralded the arrival of a major talent and became a touchstone of urban fantasy. Over the years, a number of versions were produced both in the U.S. and the U.K. Now Gaiman’s preferred edition of his classic novel reconciles these works and reinstates a number of scenes cut from the original published books.

Neverwhere is the story of Richard Mayhew, a young London businessman with a good heart and an ordinary life, which is changed forever when he discovers a girl bleeding on the sidewalk. He stops to help her—an act of kindness that plunges him into a world he never dreamed existed.

Slipping through the cracks of reality, Richard lands in the Neverwhere—a London of shadows and darkness, monsters and saints, murderers and angels that exists entirely in a subterranean labyrinth. The Neverwhere is home to Door, the mysterious girl Richard helped in the London Above. Door, a noblewoman whose family has been murdered, is on a quest to find the agent that slaughtered her family and thwart the destruction of this underworld kingdom. If Richard is ever to return to his former life, he must join the journey to save Door’s world—and find a way to survive.

It’s absolutely worth adding to your Kindle for $2.

Kubo and the Two Stringshas everything a perfect family movie could need: beautiful animation, anthropomorphic animals, and a feisty, young main character that has to save the day. And for $5 as an HD digital download from iTunes, it’s something that should be in your collection.

Syma X5C Quadcopter, $30 with code TENERGY8

If you’ve caught drone fever, but don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on a DJI Phantom, Amazon will sell you a basic camera-equipped quadcopter today for just $30, the best price we’ve ever seen by $8.

It should go without saying that this isn’t a professional tool by any means. The camera only shoots 720p, and the results look like something that might have come out of a 2009-era smartphone (here’s a sample video). But hey, it’s a camera in the sky for $30, who can complain?

The Xbox One S is already pretty affordable at $248, but today, that’ll also start your game collection off with four downloadable titles. After you purchase the console from Amazon, you’ll receive an email with instructions to download Ghost Recon Wildlands – Gold edition, Forza Motorsport 6, Halo 5, and Recore. That ought to keep you entertained for awhile.

Just a day after releasing an ebook bundle for aspiring game developers, Humble just unveiled a bundle with the software you need to actually start creating games yourself.

The bundle includes a number of GameMaker: Studio modules (Studio Pro, HTML5, iOS, Android, and Windows), which cost anywhere from $150 to $800 each at retail, plus several games that include source code or UWP modules for you to tear apart, modify, and learn from. As always, you can pay what you want, but options are spread across three different price tiers, the most expensive of which unlocks at $15.
