“If you drink and you drive and you hurt someone, don’t call me. I’m not gonna represent you, I’m not gonna help you. If anything, I’m gonna be the lawyer going after you,” says Florida attorney David J. Maloney, who was just arrested for driving under the influence.

Maloney is one of those attorneys with wacky, sometimes funny commercials, with one where he puts all the car insurance mascots you know in jail (video now listed as private.)
Channel 3 Newsreports that an Escambia County sheriff’s deputy stopped Maloney’s unspecified model of Lamborghini for speeding at around 2 a.m. Sunday on Pensacola Beach.

“During the traffic stop the deputy developed enough probable cause that David J. Maloney was driving under the influence.” Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deputy Jacob Holloway told Channel 3. “He was placed under arrest and booked in the Escambia County Jail.”Maloney is due in court to face charges on June 1, where he’ll be able to make a case in his defense or have another attorney do it for him.
Let this be your regular reminder that getting a parking ticket is better than drunk driving, but a cab or the novel concept of staying sober are also solid options too.
I mean, I shouldn’t have to say it but, especially if you’re in a Lambo, man.
