Apple Music users on Android can now save tracks to microSD cards

Apple Music users on Android now have the ability to save tracks to a microSD card for offline listening. The feature comes with the app’s latest update, and it gives Android users a big advantage over those who use Apple Music on iOS.

Although you can save music offline on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you’re limited to how much of it you can store locally because none of these devices have expandable storage. Most users go with the 16GB or 64GB options, which don’t offer a whole lot of room for tunes.

But with microSD card support on Android, you could theoretically store more than 2TB of music on the latest devices. That would be enough to get you through a cross-country journey no matter what artist, band, or genre you’re in the mood for.

Other changes in the latest Apple Music update include a full schedule of Beats 1 shows, and the ability to browse the My Music section by composers and compilations, which should help you find music from “classical albums or movie soundtracks” easier, Apple says.
