Being that today marks 25 years since the death of Formula One icon Ayrton Senna, I spent some of it watching in-car videos and perusing the photo archives of his history in the sport. While it’s impossible to say nobody took racing seriously before Senna, nobody took it as serious as he did. His steely determination and singular focus did not truly exist before, but it sure did after. There’s a bit of Senna-esque focus in the best few drivers on every grid in every race series running today. His contributions to the sport truly outlive him.
