Look, just because you’re driving a $100,000 supercar doesn’t mean you don’t have to drive along at a snail’s pace like the rest of us plebeians. No no, you too have to suck it up as all of those 500+ horsepower go to waste. And if you don’t—as these people near Niagara Falls, Canada didn’t—your car’s getting towed.
The Niagara police in Canada pulled over and threw a bunch of charges at the drivers of a Nissan GT-R, Porsche Cayenne, McLaren MP4, Mercedes AMG GT R and Chevrolet Corvette on the morning of July 11 after residents complained about unsafe driving.
The police did a little stake out of a route typically driven by exotic vehicle car rental company Ultimate Exotics, and before they knew it, they observed a handful of sports cars allegedly doing speeds over 30 mph above the limit (with two traveling over 48 mph above the limit), the Niagara Police’s press release states.
Cops stopped the cars and charged all six drivers, but four of them got it bad, with police suspending their driver’s licenses and impounding the vehicles they were driving for a week.

The list of charges for each driver is extensive, with the Niagara police enumerating them below:
1. A 37 year-old male from Hamilton was driving a grey 2010 Porsche Cayenne and faces 4 Highway Traffic Act charges, including speeding (124 km/h in a 70 km/h zone), and stunting.
2. A 58 year-old male from Burlington was driving an orange 2016 Lamborghini and faces one charge of speeding (117 km/h in a 70 km/h zone) under the Highway Traffic Act.
3. A 25 year-old male from Toronto was driving a red 2014 McLaren and faces two Highway Traffic Act charges, including speeding (137 km/h in a 70 km/h zone), and stunting.
4. A 27 year-old female from Oakville was driving a blue 2016 Corvette and faces one charge of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
5. A 48 year-old male from Richmond Hill was driving a white 2016 Mercedes AMG GT R and faces two Highway Traffic Act charges, including speeding (148 km/h in a 70 km/h zone), and stunting.
6. A 57 year-old female from Quebec was driving a white 2016 Nissan GT-R and faces 3 Highway Traffic Act charges, including speeding (148 km/h in a 70 km/h zone) and stunting.

Looking at the list above, it appears that, surprisingly, of all the cars, the least sporty—the Cayenne—was the one hit with the most charges, including “stunting.”
Niagara police is apparently done with this whole speeding in exotic cars bullshit. “The Niagara Regional Police take speeding and aggressive driving very seriously as it is considered one of the fatal four reasons that contributes to fatalities on our roadways,” the organization writes on its website, “and will continue to take enforcement action on those who show disregard.”

So the takeaway here is that, if you’re in a supercar tour that travels along essentially the same route all the time, and you think you’re going to get away with speeding, you’re silly.
