Capcom to support Street Fighter V “as far out as 2020”

Street Fighter V is not the game fans were hoping for. It launched poorly, its combo system isn’t something die-hards love and its character releases have come slower than most hoped.

Capcom isn’t ready to give up on it yet, though. They promised to ditch mid-generation sub-sequels with this game, and Street Fighter V was touted as the platform for this generation of consoles. It sounds like they’re sticking to that idea.

Speaking with Famitsu, Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono explained that they plan to support Street Fighter V for a long time to come. Ono said Capcom “planned out as far as 2020 or so” for this game. Capcom wants to “solidify V as an eSports title,” Ono added.

Capcom needs to double down Street Fighter V

Hold some crazy sales, make a huge push to introduce unique modes and characters, attract more fans into the base of Street Fighter veterans. That’s what Capcom needs to do with Street Fighter V. They need to push this game to be what they said it would be before release.

Just, please, don’t release Ultra Street Fighter V Turbo Edition.
