If you didn’t get to catch up with your fellow Jalopnik readers in Hollywood last month, or if you’re in LA and just want to see a whole bunch of interesting cars including my safari Scout, why not come through the Culver City Car Show this weekend?
On Saturday May 12, Veteran’s Park in Culver City will be taken over by people’s prized cars, trucks and motorcycles on display for your enjoyment. There will also be bands, food trucks, a beer garden… and while the food isn’t free, getting into the show is and so is parking.
Jalopnik is not officially affiliated with this event, however, I did pay for a double-wide exhibiter’s space so I’ll be posted up with my truck and a little tent or awning of some kind. If you come say hello, I just might have a Jalopnik sticker for you.

As for the other vehicles in attendance, the show is advertised as open to “All Rods, Customs, Classic & Muscle Cars, Trucks, Specialty Vehicles, Cobras, Mustangs, Corvettes and Motorcycles.” Since you can pretty much call anything “custom” I’d say you could roll up in whatever, but if you’re thinking there will be a decent turnout of old dudes in Hawaiian shirts… yeah, probably. (I’m still debating whether or not I’m going to don mine.)

But in all seriousness, I went to this show last year as a spectator and while 1950s to 1970s American iron (low riders, hot rods, muscle cars) were best-represented, there were also plenty of interesting Euros and movie cars including Speed Racer’s Mach 5, Herbie and the Blues Brothers cop car complete with cosplayers.
