Comment Of The Day: American Cars Worthy Of Europe Edition

If you go to Europe, you will notice that there is a shockingly low number of American cars dotting the streets. There are hardly any pickup trucks, and it’s a real event if you see something like a Corvette or a Camaro. Do Europeans actually buy American cars?

U.S. car brands are doing OK in some areas. The Ford Mustang is an incredibly strong global seller, including in Europe. And we all know it’s hard to qualify what exactly makes a car “American.” But in general, we’re not a nation that’s known for making legitimate Mercedes competitors, diesel hatchbacks or tiny kei cars for Japan.

In truth I don’t have the answer to this question, first asked by reader AtLeastItsBlue, a self-proclaimed “European.”

What do you guys think? Which American cars would a typical European person buy?
