When you’re driving 200 mph, there’s not much time to react to a crash, especially when that crash happens only a few feet ahead of you. Just ask Conor Daly at this year’s Indy 500, who spun himself into a wall trying to avoid a crashed Mikhail Aleshin.
The Indy 500 is well underway, and on lap 114, Mikhail Aleshin lost control of his rear end and slid into a wall.
Daly was left in the smoke and forced to drive blind. He appears to have jerked the wheel to the left too hard trying to avoid Aleshin, and lost control of his rear end, ultimately sliding backward into Aleshin.

Both drivers are done for the day, though they are expected to be fine.
