Lobov was competing on the preliminary card but lost a three round decision to Andre Fili. Having now suffered back-to-back defeats, Lobov said after the fight that he was considering switching sports and competing in boxing.
“Paulie [Malignaggi] wouldn’t be a bad fight,” Lobov told UFC. “I know he’s after big paydays so he might not be interested in a fight against me but if he was, I’d be all for it.”
McGregor, meanwhile, is in line for his own UFC fight as he is expected to defend his lightweight title against jiu-jitsu expert Tony Ferguson.
UFC president Dana White recently said: “It’s the fight that makes sense and is the fight that has to happen.”
