Corvette Z06 Loses Fight With a Wall at the Nürburgring

Perhaps realizing few will pay attention to or talk about it after the expected coming of its successor, the ancient mythological beast known as the mid-engine Corvette, this current-generation Corvette Z06 evidently wanted to get some attention by fighting a wall at the Nürburgring in Germany. It lost.

The Nürburgring and its track days are known for great saves and bad wrecks, but more so the latter, since a nearby hospital even has a track map for people to show doctors where they ate it. File this poor Z06 into the “ate it” category, since its attempts to prove its worth in a fight with the wall, well, failed.

Not to worry, Z06. The world will still have plenty of reasons to pay attention to you once (if) your fabled successor finally arrives, like the times when people sue over your tendency to overheat and go into limp mode on track.
