Here’s another Kickstarter success that took a bit longer to cook than expected. CosmicStar Heroine has been confirmed for a release on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this summer, and PlayStation has a brand new trailer to show you why this is a game that all 16-bit JRPG fans must play.
I mean, it doesn’t get that much better, does it? Obvious nods to classic favorites, an original story and colorful cast, a speedy system with little downtime or grinding, and that oh-so rockin’ soundtrack. Plus, developer Zeboyd Games, which already has several critically lauded games to its name, has provided step by step details on how the game has progressed, and a brief glimpse at any post it has made shows that these guys know the ins and outs of JRPG theory.
This isn’t the inner fanboy talking, either. These guys know what’s up, and Cosmic Star Heroine looks like it could have been one of those masterpieces we talk about 20 years later if it had come out on the Super Nintendo.
The game will cost $14.99 when it comes out on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, and yes, the game does support cross-buy. No worries there. I’m already a backer and have been smitten with love at first sight, but hopefully this blazing trailer has been enough to get you pumped, too.
