While we wait for news of a home console version or even localization of Square Enix’s popular arcade game Dissida Final Fantasy, the company is piling onto its existing character roster. Neglecting the side of “light” in its latest update, it has turned to the dark by adding its first villain into the mix.
And surprisingly enough, its first choice is not Sephiroth. Call us all shocked, right?
Instead, the first villain added to the fighting game is the very first boss fight to ever appear in a Final Fantasy: Garland. He is described as a “Heavy” type character, as is quite obvious because of his massive sword and lumbering armor.
Dissida Final Fantasy is available now in Japanese arcades. Square Enix has been coy about a home console port, but the company hasn’t committed to anything just yet.
