I know as much about Sumo wrestling as you do- two large men in small loincloths slowly try to push each other out of a circle. I would have expected the same looming, deliberate pace from Robot Sumo. But no, these mean little things are terrifreakingfingly fast.
In this Sumo supercut (ロボット相撲 ) you can watch wave after wave of what sure look like very angry versions of VCRs and toasters assault each other with hummingbird tenacity.
I’ve let this play through twice now and I’m still giggling at the spastic violence in the corner of my screen. Look at these little monsters go!

They are quick, too, if you watch the feet and hands of the spectators you can see that these clips don’t appear to be sped up. Speaking of feet, check out the Stormtrooper boots the referee is wearing. I guess I’d want some protection if I had to stand anywhere near metallic things moving this fast, too.
Today: Some random warehouse in Japan. Tomorrow: Olympic Games? (Day after that: world domination?)
