Bethesda and id Software are so proud about the universal praise that DOOM has received, that it is prepared to put out a “shareware” demo so that everyone can give it a try.
Ah, the good old days of free DOOM. I can remember it like it was just 25 years ago.
For this week only, players can log in through their platform of choice, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC though Steam, and download the first level absolutely free. Bethesda hopes that you will join the voices who claim it is the best shooter of the year.
In addition, id Software rolled out a series of standard DLC packages that will be became available over the course of the year.
