Apple is set to expand its watch band selection next week with some help from New York-based luxury goods maker Coach. 9to5Mac was able to confirm the launch bands and price following several leaks.
The new Apple Watch bands are set to arrive in Coach stores starting on June 6 for $150. That may sound like a lot but the high-end bands from Hermès cost more than double at $340. Even Apple’s basic rubbery Sport Band costs $50.
Coach is set to offer at least three different models. There’s a “Glovetanned Leather” band with heat-creased edges, a “Wild Beast Camo” version made from fine-grained calf leather, and a “Tea Rose” model. The company’s expected to offer even more options in a variety of colors.
The one thing we don’t know for sure is what size options Coach will offer. It’s likely the company will support both 38mm and 42mm versions of the Apple Watch, but a store representative apparently told 9to5Mac the bands were listed in the “womens” category. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to find out the final details.
