Following a glut of trailers during Super Bowl weekend, we got a healthy dose of trailer rumors, and confirmations, led by the release of a new Batman v Superman trailer. If you had any doubt Ben Affleck couldn’t play Batman, those doubts should be put to rest. I can see now why Warner Bros. reportedly want him to star in his own solo trilogy.
In addition, we learned a new Harry Potter book is on the way, Star Wars: Episode VIII filming has begun and Aladdin is somehow connected to Beauty and the Beast. I know, crazy. Finally, HBO released a huge gallery of new photos from Game of Thrones season 6, which is premiering in just a few short months.

Check out the Ecto-2 from Ghostbusters
You’ve seen the cast, along with the Ecto-1. Now get a look at the Ecto-2, a motorcycle with some ghost-catching parts attached to the back. This is the vehicle Chris Hemsworth’s character is going to drive, as we saw from the Lego set that was revealed recently.
Equals trailer
Check out this mesmerizing first trailer for Equals, a movie about the suppression of love and the opposition to conformity. It stars Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart, and is set for a release this summer. That Chromatics song that accompanies the trailer is too good. It’s all about what’s not said that makes an impact here.
Netflix’s Flaked gets a trailer
Will Arnett stars as Chip, a compulsive liar and recovering alcoholic who falls for a girl his best friend also happens to like. It doesn’t look ha-ha funny, but more poignant and emotional and “real,” whatever that means. It premieres on Netflix on March 11.
The Purge: Election Year trailer
The Purge is the kind of film that features a premise so ridiculous it actually works. As a straight up action movie, The Purge: Anarchy (and the movie before it) was entertaining, and Election Year looks no different. Frank Grillo returns in the lead role. The Purge: Election Year hits theaters on July 4.
Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok
Latino Review claims to have an exclusive rumor about the fate of Heimdall. The report says Hela will take over Asgard, banish Thor, destroy his hammer, and then kill Heimdall. Apparently Heimdall’s death happens “earlier than you expect.” But that’s not all. The character will reportedly come back later with a vengeance. [LatinoReview]
Jackie Earle Haley in AMC’s Preacher
AMC has confirmed that Jackie Earle Haley has signed on as Odin Quincannon, and will appear in six episodes. For anyone who has read the comics, you’ll know all about Quincannon’s story. Expect Preacher to air on AMC this summer. [HollywoodReporter]
Ewan McGregor in Star Wars: Episode VIII?
Ean McGregor’s Obi Wan had the tiniest of roles in The Force Awakens, and it sounds like he could feature in Episode VIII, too. A new rumor claims McGregor will appear in the role of Obi Wan as a Force Ghost, maybe to talk to Rey and Luke and tell them to lay the smack down on Kylo Ren.
Grain of salt: hearing that Ewan Mcgregor in talks to play Obi Force ghost in Episode 8.

The Lobster
One word: Weird. But good weird. The kind of captivating and charming weird that grabs a hold of you and doesn’t let go. The kind of weird that could make The Lobster a classic despite its quirkiness. The Lobster comes out on March 11.
