If you’re reading this and you haven’t seen Disney’s The Jungle Book, do yourself a favor and check it out. I had no intentions of checking it out myself but after seeing it a few weeks ago I’m very glad I got the chance to check it out. Not only is the story fun and engaging but the animation is incredible.
Check out the stories below to see what you might have missed from this week.
Despicable Me 3
Gru will be back for Despicable Me 3 and, this time, he’ll take on Balthazar Bratt, a former 80s child star voiced by South Park’s Trey Parker.

Avengers: Infinity War
Joe and Anthony Russo, the duo behind Captain America: Civil War, were asked whether or not any of the Guardians will appear in Avengers: Infinity War, another movie the brothers are directing. Here’s what the two had to say:
The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited. [Comicbook]
Kong: Skull Island
Some behind-the-scenes footage from Kong: Skull Island was shared, giving us our first glimpse at the cast together. The video reveals some details, too, teasing some exciting things to come.
The Jungle Book 2
Response to Disney’s The Jungle Book has been fantastic thus far; so good, in fact, that a sequel is already being green lit. That reminds me, don’t forget to check out our review. [Variety]
Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2
According to Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 will feel like different movies. Speaking to io9, the two brothers explained the two parts will feel distinct from one another, describing them as “different expressions.” [io9]
Godzilla: Resurgence
Not to be confused with the recent Godzilla movie directed by Gareth Edwards, Toho has made a Godzilla movie of its own. The trailer has zero dialogue, instead focusing on the King of Monsters invading a small Japanese town backed by a dramatic score.
The Neon Demon
Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives) is back with his new project, The Neon Demon. The movie is an Amazon Studios release and focuses on an aspiring model in Los Angeles and, well, just see for yourself. It’s moody and stylish, just like his other movies. Let’s hope it’s more on the side of Drive than Only God Forgives.
Star Wars trilogy
Alamo Drafthouse is going to play the original Star Wars trilogy for audiences in August, including at theaters in San Francisco, New York, San Antonio, and Miami, among others. Entertainment Weekly has the full list of locations. [EW]
Finding Dory
Ahead of its release in June, some concept art for Finding Dory has been released. [Collider]
Thor: Ragnarok
Tessa Thompson, know for her role in Creed, has signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel and is set to make her first appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. The actress is said to play Thor’s new love interest, essentially replacing Natalie Portman. [TheWrap]
Preacher
We’ve already seen a trailer, now check out this clip from AMC’s upcoming show Preacher. If this is the kind of intensity we can expect, sign me up. May 22 can’t come soon enough.
Tulip makes quite the first impression. #PREACHER is coming Sunday, May 22.https://t.co/O5KpPRfk3l
