During a recent Japanese live stream, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata offered up frame rate and resolution specifics for the game.
As of right now, the PlayStation 4 Pro version of FFXV has two graphical options. You can play the game at 40-50fps in 1080p, or you can play at 30fps in 4K.
Standard PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can expect 1080p and 900p at 30fps for their games. The resolution is said to be dynamic, so it will fluctuate to maintain a stable frame rate.
Final Fantasy XV will not achieve 60fps at launch on PS4 Pro
The big takeaway here is that Final Fantasy XV will not hit 60fps at launch on the PlayStation 4. However, that will come eventually.
Director Hajime Tabata said that a patch should come in December to improve frame rates. That patch is aimed square at bringing the PS4 Pro version up to 60fps at 1080p.
In 4K? It sounds like all the PlayStation 4 Pro can muster is that 30fps frame rate.
Final Fantasy XV releases for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29, 2016.
