Fox Sports Isn’t Even Trying Anymore

At least Fox Sports gave us more notice than usual that their schedule of maddening channel changes for the 24 Hours of Le Mans would be changing mid-race yet again, but yes: they’re changing it again. Does no one at Fox know how to plan for things, ever?

According to the latest announcement released this afternoon, the Le Mans schedule is shifting to accommodate coverage of the U.S. Open golf tournament.

Here is Fox Sports’ latest re-amended amended schedule for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race broadcast, via this afternoon’s announcement:

Full schedule (all times ET and subject to change):

– COMPLETED: FS2: 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

– COMPLETED: FS1: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

– FS2: 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

– FS2: 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

– FS2: 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

– FS2: 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. (June 19)

– FS1: 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. (June 19)

– FS2: 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (June 19)

Sweet disclaimer, bros, and believe me: we know, because they pulled the same shenanigans on the Le Mans broadcast last year. Way to prove that the network just doesn’t even care.

The worst change of them all is that most of us are probably going to have to whip out a laptop just to catch the end of the race, as Fox Sports 2 itself is rarer than an albino cheetah.

Something’s just not right about this number of changes in one day. Someone at Fox either needs to learn how to handle over-runs and delays better, or they need to hand off motorsport coverage to another family of networks who can handle it in a less frustrating manner.
