Galaxy Note 7 banned from all U.S. flights, even turned off

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration just banned the Galaxy Note 7 from all aircraft in the United States. It doesn’t matter if you power it down.

Previously, following both recalls, most airlines asked Galaxy Note 7 owners to power their devices off and to make sure they weren’t being charged on the flight. Now you’ll have to leave it behind somewhere, because they won’t be cruising at 35,000 feet with you.

Reactions: Galaxy Note 7 banned from flight

It’s a smart move by the FAA and one I hope Galaxy Note 7 owners pay attention to. If you own the phone, you shouldn’t be traveling and putting folks around you at risk, whether in an airplane or in the car. It’s prone to catching on fire. Return or exchange the phone immediately.
