The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge received universal praise from reviewers earlier this week, including the TechnoBuffalo staff, which is a promising start to the smartphone’s official launch today. Samsung said pre-orders – perhaps as a result of praises sung for the phones – are off to a better start than its 2015 smartphones.
According to Reuters, the co-head of Samsung’s mobile business, J.K. Shin, recently made comments suggesting that there are “stronger preorder volumes” for both Galaxy S7 phones. The executive didn’t specifically discuss just how many were ordered, a figure that would give us a much better idea of how successful the launch might be, but said the Galaxy S7 is already expected to outpace sales of last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
We’ll probably hear about actual sales figures about 3 months from now when Samsung starts to disclose sales for this quarter. Until then, we’ll just have to listen to more hints like these from company executives to figure out how well the phone is performing in the market.
