He’s become a punchline in Game of Thrones-themed jokes. Since becoming a favorite in the series, it’s as if he’s disappeared from the GoT universe. Where did he go? And what the heck has he been doing all this time?
Spoilers ahead:
According to set spies, a certain bastard child of Robert Baratheon is set to return in season 7. After rowing off into the sunset back in season 3, Gendry must be dog tired.
Maybe he was training to participate in the Olympics?
Since escaping the clutches of King Stannis and Lady Melisandre, Gendry has been rowing toward King’s Landing, never to be heard from again. The only problem is, the show never concluded his story, and fans have been anticipating his return ever since.
Has he been rowing this whole time?
It’s been a long wait, but if these set spies are to be believed, Gendry is finally going to return—and he’s going to be with Tyrion Lannister and Davos Seaworth no less. Fitting, because Davos is the one who helped the boy escape.
Hearing he might be back in Dragonstone is a little odd considering that’s the place he originally fled. However, now that Stannis is gone, he’s not in as much danger.
Hopefully, since his disappearance, he made time to have a “bowl’o brown” for Davos.
Game of Thrones is returning later than usual due to good old Mother Nature. We also know the show only has two more seasons left, which means a lot of story that still needs to be told. How will Gendry fit into all of this?
Let’s hope he doesn’t return, only to be sent off on another side-quest.
