Just yesterday, we learned that Gears of War 4 has a firm release date of October 11. Developer The Coalition isn’t done with reveals yet, though, and it has something big planned. Just after midnight last night, the official Gears of War Twitter announced the countdown, which you can also watch on the official website if you’re into watching numbers roll downward. The countdown is set to expire on April 11, about three and a half days from the time of this writing.
The obvious elements would be a trailer, announcement of a new mode, re-introduction of a favorite character, or something like that.
Gears of War community director Adam Fletcher, though, had a bit more to say:

If it’s genuinely going to be a surprise, then it’s impossible to speculate what the countdown might be heading toward, but it won’t be long before we find out.
Gears of War 4 itself is set to hit Xbox One exclusively on October 11.
