As we mentioned last week, you probably shouldn’t book a flight on third-party sites like Expedia or Travelocity or you might miss out on some airlines’ sales. And right on cue, Southwest announced a sale on flights departing as soon as September and through the spring.
For $49 on a one-way ticket, you can fly from Atlanta to Nashville or San Jose to San Diego. Of course, the typical restrictions apply; you won’t be able to fly out on blackout dates on or around the holidays.

Also, keep in mind that you should be flexible in selecting your departure and arrival dates, as you might find that the best deals require you to fly out on weekdays. (Generally, you should avoid travel dates on Fridays or Sundays if you want to grab the best deals as part of Southwest’s sale.)
Below you’ll find some of the best Southwest deals on one-way tickets:
- Nashville to Atlanta: $49.
- San Diego to San Jose: $49.
- Phoenix to Salt Lake City: $79.
- Orlando to Raleigh: $79.
- Washington (Dulles) to Atlanta: $89.
- Newark to Chicago: $95.
The deal works both ways, too; you could grab the same price on a departure trip as your arrival (so a roundtrip from Nashville to Atlanta could cost just $98).

To view the rest of the deals, take a look at Southwest’s website. But do it quickly—the sale ends at midnight, Pacific Time.
