GOG offers DRM-free versions of your Steam games at zero cost

GOG Connect

GOG.com just made a huge push to become more relevant by offering a new program it calls “GOG Connect.” Simply put, this new initiative will allow gamers to combine their Steam accounts with their GOG accounts, granting owners DRM-free copies of select games they own on Steam.

Of course, the kicker is that it must be a game that GOG has in its own library, and the developer must have given the “go ahead.” From there, the games will be available for a limited time, as described by GOG on its official website. This first week includes indie favorites like Braid, FTL, and Shadowrun, as well as bigger games like The Witcher and Saints Row 2.

To connect your library with GOG.com, sign in to your active Steam account via this page. NOTE: Make sure your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public.

You’ll be able to permanently import all the games listed below to your GOG.com library – assuming you own them. The eligible games are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned for more games to come.

A simple login on GOG.com is all it takes, so why not take a minute and get a whole bunch of DRM-free games on your GOG account? What’s the worst that could happen? In fact, migrating your collection over could inspire GOG to offer more games in the future!
