If you haven’t yet booked your flight for the holidays, keep waiting—you might actually benefit by waiting a little longer before pulling the trigger. If, on the other hand, the idea of booking a trip last-minute gives you heart palpitations, Southwest is having a sale right now on flights this fall and winter—and it ends tonight.
For as little as $49, you can fly one-way from Nashville to Atlanta or from San Diego to Sacramento. (If you’re traveling inter-island between Honolulu and Maui, you’ll also find one way-tickets for only $39.)
There’s the catch, as usual. Certain blackout dates on both Thanksgiving day and Christmas apply, which means you’ll have to fly out on dates around the holidays to make the best use of the sale; you might find a sale on flights the weekend before Thanksgiving, for example. Also, you might need to be a little flexible with travel dates. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays might prove the best days to fly out.
Below are some noteworthy deals on one-way tickets we’ve handpicked from the sale:
- San Francisco to Los Angeles: $64
- St. Louis to Nashville: $87
- New York (LaGuardia) to Chicago: $91
- Austin to New Orleans: $91
- Grand Rapids to Baltimore: $92
- Hartford to Tampa: $96
To see the full list of deals, take a look at Southwest’s website. Just remember to act now—the sale ends at midnight. And while we’re at it, who has the right to the window shade on a flight? Let’s discuss.
