There’s still one very big Easter Egg people haven’t spotted in Guardians of the Galaxy—at least according to director James Gunn. How do we know? We don’t. But director James Gunn has offered one fan $100,000 to find it.
Ever since the Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-ray was released, Gunn has maintained the film includes several secrets—some big, some small. While some have been uncovered, Gunn says there’s still “one really big thing that people haven’t seen.”
Since fans have been unable to figure out what Gunn is referring to, some have resorted to calling him a liar.
“Do you plan on revealing the big easter egg from Guardians?” one fan asked. Gunn said he did not, and that’s when accusations started to fly.
“He won’t reveal it because it doesn’t exist,” another fan said. “The ultimate troll.”
Gunn wasn’t having it.
“If there is no Easter Egg I will give you a hundred thousand dollars—copy this post—I will consider it a legally binding contract—signed, James Gunn,” Gunn said to the skeptical fan.
$100,000 is on the line
That’s quite the challenge. Now, all the fan has to do is figure out what Easter Egg still hasn’t been uncovered. No pressure! Can he at least get a hint?
You have to figure at some point fans will figure it out. But the stakes are particularly high for one Tanin Moores, who stands to win $100,000. My guess is Moores will be poring through the film in the coming weeks. At least until May 5, 2017, when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters.
