The upcoming 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA45 popped up on the automaker’s German configurator website ahead of its official reveal, showing off a picture of the back of the car in an optional “Night Package” configuration. The photo has since been removed.
It seems the leak first showed up on AutoBild, which was seemingly tipped off by one of its readers who spotted the image in the CLA 35 configurator after selecting the night package and clicking through the photos.
The photo revealed the car’s unique wheel design option, red brake calipers, quad tailpipes, and an aero package that matches that of the optional package on the lesser CLA 35. The badge on the back of the car in the image also revealed that there will be a CLA 45S model, likely alongside a regular CLA 45 model.
We’ll learn what power and performance figures we’re dealing with when the car is officially revealed, but the CLA 35 already offers 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic standard.
