The Nissan SR20 is the little ball of fury that has powered innumerable Nissan budget and pro drift and drag cars over the past nearly three decades. Usually it’s your best way to two or three hundred horsepower. Here’s what it’s like when it’s pushing 900.
This is Dave Briggs’ SR-powered pro car that competed in Formula Drift a few years ago and is still talked about in the drift community. What people seem to still like about the SR is that is feels raucous, like all of the bolts are coming loose, that there’s danger to manifold!! and your car will explode as you wind out to redline. You get that feeling hearing this thing run.
What I didn’t realize is that this engine could be yours. Briggs’ engine is best known for its Mazworx manifold, and Mazworx down in Florida is where you can buy this whole setup.
For $16,999.
You do get a lot for your money, with an engine taken up to 2.3 liters from 2.0 and the aforementioned 900 horsepower. Full specs are on the for sale page here. Worth it? Probably worth it.
