A world heavyweight championship unification fight is scheduled to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, March 31.
Fighting out of one corner is WBO title holder Joseph Parker, a power puncher from New Zealand. Out of the other corner is IBF and WBA champion Anthony Joshua, a bruising big man with a terrifying record of 20 knockout victories from 20 professional contests.
Over 70,000 tickets have already been sold and because there are many other boxing bouts on the night, the doors at the stadium are expected to open at around 5.30 p.m. local time (BST).
This means the broadcast for the show’s main fights will likely air at 8 p.m, with the Joshua vs. Parker showdown expected to begin at 10.p.m. BST.
Here’s what time the fight will start in major cities across different time zones on Saturday, March 31:
- London (BST): 10 p.m.
- New York (ET): 5 p.m.
- Chicago (CT): 4 p.m.
- Denver (MT): 3 p.m.
- Las Vegas (PT): 2 p.m.
- Los Angeles (PT): 2 p.m.
- Honolulu (HAST): 11 a.m.
- Sydney (AET): 7 a.m. (Sunday)
- Tokyo (JST): 6 a.m. (Sunday)
- Moscow (MSK): 12 a.m. (Sunday)
- Paris (CEST): 11 p.m.
Joshua is a renowned entity in world sports because he has been involved in thrilling fights.
The popular British boxer laughed off an in-ring riot to flatten old amateur rival Dillian Whyte with a crushing right uppercut in 2015, got off the canvas to knock out former long-reigning heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2017, and almost had his nose split in half when Carlos Takam headbutted him in his most recent outing last October.
Here’s example of Joshua’s terrifying ability:
Parker, like Joshua, is an unbeaten heavyweight. The 26-year-old won his WBO heavyweight world title with a decision win over Andy Ruiz Jr in 2016 and has successfully defended the belt twice, including a slim points win over Tyson Fury’s cousin, Hughie Fury, last September.
