I really loved my time with Hyper Light Drifter. The game is brutal, beautiful, interesting and features a fantastic soundtrack. You can sink your teeth into my review here. I’m totally down for experiencing it again, especially if I can do so in cooperative form.
I now have that opportunity… temporarily. Heart Machine has issued a beta patch for Hyper Light Drifter that will allow for local co-op on Steam. You simply need to opt into the beta.
“How do I do that,” you ask? Find the game in your Steam library, right click it, head to properties and find the Betas tab. Select “co-op” from the drop down menu and let the game update. There you have it.
The beta will run until May 2, so you essentially have this weekend to enjoy it. From there, Heart Machine will take feedback and work on a full release of the cooperative mode.
Pretty nifty, right?
