This is interesting… Sprint just announced that it’s bundling a year of Amazon Prime with one of its data plans. Amazon Prime typically costs $99 a year or $10.99 a month, so, while it’s not incredibly expensive, it’s a nice incentive to go with Sprint over another carrier. T-Mobile offers incentives, too, like MLB.TV during the summer months.
The difference between Sprint and other carriers, however, is that this option is only available to customers on Sprint’s new 40GB data plan, dubbed “Amazon Better Choice XXL.” Weird name for a cell plan, right? Anyway, once you sign up for Amazon Better Choice XXL, you’ll receive a text message that gets you all set up with your new Amazon Prime registration. Sprint automatically covers the $10.99 monthly price, which means you shouldn’t owe anything for Amazon Prime if you decide to leave Sprint at a later date.
Neat idea, let’s see if it helps the carrier continue to boost its customer base. Is Amazon Prime enough to make you switch to Sprint?
