Formula E is an open-wheel racing series, similar to Formula One or IndyCar. However, the big difference with Formula E is that the cars are all-electric.
The cars can hit speeds up to 140 mph using 28 kWh batteries for their engines. The drivers end up having to switch to a new car typically halfway through a race once their battery dies.
We checked out the scene in Brooklyn, NY, where the Formula E series took over for the weekend.
